Do our names declare a self-fulfilling prophecy?
For this project, I investigated names and the idea of how names can shape our identity. Each name has a unique meaning that might affect how we live. Do people consider these matters when we are named? Why do certain names earner higher wages than their counterparts? Where do our names come from, and how do we identify with them? How does that identity change throughout our life?
I looked to explore the relationship between how we receive our names, their origins, their meanings, and the power behind names. Pieces such as "Unisex" delve into the popularity of the same name given to people of different sexes. Meanwhile, "Ghost of the Past" and "Transitions" touch on the reasons people may change their names as a  step in recreating their life.
